Other
Useful Presidential Sites
Internet Public Library: The Presidents of the United States
- With pictures and stats, this site contains many of the basic
facts to need on any of our past Presidents. Biographies, dates,
historic documents and links to related sites on each President.
National Archives: The Presidential Libraries
- Several former Presidents (and/or scholars, friends, etc.) established
libraries devoted to studies of their respective careers. This National
Archives site is a directory to the twelve Presidential libraries.
The twelve: Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, LBJ, Kennedy,
Eisenhower, Truman, FDR and Hoover.
The Green Papers - While this site
was intended to just be "dedicated to the dissemination of facts,
figures, tidbits and commentary" on the 2000 Presidential campaign,
this informative site still lives on ... and is frequently updated.
It looks like this interesting resource -- unconnected to the Green
Party (despite any confusion name created by the name) -- will continue
to providing similar info on American politics as we head towards
the 2004 race. A lot of the old 2000 info is still posted ... along
with the stuff for various upcoming Congressional special elections,
the 2004 races, Congressional info, etc.
Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections
- Dave Leip prepared this very informative site, which provides
historic voting results from the Presidential general elections
of 1860-2000 -- plus results from the 2000 Presidential primaries.
Presidents of the United States
- Short bios and tons of links -- plus lots of very helpful cross-references
available at the click of a mouse -- on every one of our national
Chief Executives. A great resource from CB Presidential Research
Services. Also be sure to check out their amazing Third
Party Presidential Candidates site.
VicePresidents.com - Yup, a site
dedicated entirely to the history of 46 men who have served as Vice
President of the United States. Did you know that 18 of the 46 either
died in office or resigned? More trivia, plus bios, pix, etc.
National Archives: US Electoral College
- This site, maintained by the National Archives, is the closest
thing there is to an "official" site for the Electoral College --
the folks who actually elect the President of the United
States. Just remember: Al Gore won 500,000 more votes than George
W. Bush in 2000 ... but Bush was elected President because he won
more electoral votes (271 versus 267) than Gore.
PRESIDENCY
2000 and PRESIDENCY
2004
Democrats,
Republicans, third party candidates and Independents ... if they
ran for President in 2000 or 2004, you can still find them ALL here
... plus other P2000 and P2004 resources ... on our archived P2000
a nd P2004 pages. A great reference guide to the 2000 and 2004 elections.
(Note: because these are archived pages, the P2000 and P2004
pages are no longer being updated. WARNING:
Also note that -- for some odd reason -- hardcore porn companies
frequently purchase the domain names formerly used by many of the
official and unofficial campaign sites.)
